Meet James

Bird dogs aren’t just a hobby for me — they’re a way of life.

I specialize in developing high-drive, intelligent, and dependable upland gun dogs with a strong foundation in obedience, steadiness, and real-world hunting experience. Whether it’s a young pup just starting out or a finished dog polishing advanced skills, my focus is always the same: build a confident dog that performs in the field and lives well at home.

I’ve spent years working with pointing breeds, particularly German Shorthaired Pointers, English Pointers, and Brittanys — dogs bred to hunt hard, cover ground, and hold birds with intensity. My training approach blends structure, consistency, and exposure. Birds, gunfire, field conditions, and real hunting scenarios are part of the process — not an afterthought.

I believe in:

• Strong foundations before pressure

• Clear communication and fairness

• Developing natural ability, not suppressing it

• Producing dogs that are stylish, steady, and reliable

My goal is simple: deliver a dog you’re proud to walk behind.

I understand what serious hunters expect — drive, cooperation, style, and control. I also understand that every dog is different. Training isn’t one-size-fits-all, and neither are expectations.

When your dog trains here, it’s treated like a working athlete. Conditioning, nutrition, exposure, and mental development all matter. The result? A dog that handles pressure, performs consistently, and hunts with purpose.

If you’re serious about developing your bird dog the right way, I’d be honored to help.
